Su deseo de asistir a la formaci\u00f3n sobre Mediaci\u00f3n Cultural del proyecto RE.BE.CO (REfugees to BEcome COnselours and trainers) y comenzar su andadura como mediadores culturales. En este art\u00edculo, los participantes Favour, Mariia y Daniel -de Nigeria, Ucrania y Venezuela, respectivamente- nos explican sus impresiones tras esta experiencia, as\u00ed como los beneficios de que personas de origen inmigrante se conviertan en mediadores culturales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pero antes, as\u00ed resume Favour las 2 semanas de entrenamiento:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En una fr\u00eda ma\u00f1ana de oto\u00f1o, diez personas emprendieron un viaje desde Barcelona. Proced\u00edan de diversas nacionalidades y regiones, desde Ucrania hasta Venezuela, pasando por Siria, Kenia y Nigeria. Sin embargo, los diez participantes ten\u00edan algo en com\u00fan: todos eran reci\u00e9n llegados a Europa. Nos embarcamos en un viaje a Italia, sin tener ni idea de qu\u00e9 esperar o no, completamente ajenos a que ser\u00eda un viaje que nos cambiar\u00eda la vida. Unas semanas antes, estaba sentada en mi habitaci\u00f3n, hojeando mi tel\u00e9fono cuando vi un anuncio de formaci\u00f3n relacionado con el proyecto RE.BE.CO en la ciudad toscana de Bagni di Lucca (Italia) en el Slack de Open Cultural Center Barcelona. Como alguien que ha pasado s\u00f3lo unos meses en Europa, pens\u00e9: \"\u00bfpor qu\u00e9 no?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-columns-a575cf7d\" class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-columns has-3-columns has-desktop-oneThreeOne-layout has-tablet-equal-layout has-mobile-collapsedRows-layout has-vertical-unset\"><div class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-columns-overlay\"><\/div><div class=\"innerblocks-wrap\">\n<div id=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-column-54d7c3ec\" class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-column\">\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-column-77ad1899\" class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-column\">\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>El proyecto Youth Life RE.BE.CO pretende promover la inclusi\u00f3n de los j\u00f3venes inmigrantes, refugiados y solicitantes de asilo que han llegado a los pa\u00edses europeos, mediante el desarrollo de una mejor interacci\u00f3n con las instituciones locales, los servicios de voluntariado, las asociaciones, las escuelas, las universidades y el mercado laboral. La formaci\u00f3n sobre Meditaci\u00f3n Cultural dirigida a personas de origen inmigrante ha sido uno de los principales pilares de la iniciativa. El 18 por la ma\u00f1ana, los delegados de Barcelona volaron a Bolonia (Italia). En la estaci\u00f3n de tren de Bolonia, tuvimos nuestra experiencia con los perfiles raciales, la estigmatizaci\u00f3n \u00e9tnica y los estereotipos cuando los agentes de polic\u00eda decidieron meterse con uno de los delegados porque ten\u00eda \"cierto aspecto\" y cierto nombre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nos retrasaron durante horas, todo en nombre de los \"controles\" y el \"debido proceso\", sin una raz\u00f3n concreta y, sobre todo, sin ni siquiera una disculpa. Esperamos en la estaci\u00f3n de tren durante 3 horas. Esto nos dio la oportunidad de discutir nuestras diversas experiencias con la ley, los prejuicios raciales, la discriminaci\u00f3n y los estereotipos. Esta experiencia iba a ser la base de algunas discusiones en la formaci\u00f3n. Nos compenetramos durante el retraso, nos conocimos y festejamos juntos. Por fin subimos al tren hacia Bagni di Lucca. En total, \u00e9ramos treinta participantes, diez de Espa\u00f1a, dos de Grecia, cinco de Suecia y trece de Italia. Parec\u00eda como si tuvi\u00e9ramos al mundo entero en una habitaci\u00f3n.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En la primera semana de formaci\u00f3n, tuvimos a facilitadores, abogados, trabajadores sociales y psic\u00f3logos hablando de varios temas, en particular de las leyes europeas relativas a la solicitud de asilo y al estatuto de refugiado. Estuvimos de acuerdo en que cada d\u00eda, en todo el mundo, la gente toma una de las decisiones m\u00e1s dif\u00edciles de su vida: abandonar su hogar en busca de una vida m\u00e1s segura y mejor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Estos viajes, que todos comienzan con la esperanza de un futuro mejor, pueden estar llenos de peligro y miedo. Las personas corren el riesgo de ser v\u00edctimas de la trata de seres humanos y de otras formas de explotaci\u00f3n. Algunos son detenidos por las autoridades nada m\u00e1s llegar a un nuevo pa\u00eds. Una vez que se instalan y empiezan a construir una nueva vida, muchos se enfrentan a diario al racismo, la xenofobia y la discriminaci\u00f3n. As\u00ed lo ejemplificaron los relatos compartidos por los participantes sobre su viaje, que conmovieron a muchos hasta las l\u00e1grimas. Nuestra experiencia en la estaci\u00f3n de tren sirvi\u00f3 para demostrar que estos problemas son reales y est\u00e1n lejos de desaparecer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por otra parte, el estatuto jur\u00eddico de una persona no puede expresar toda la identidad y la personalidad de un refugiado, un solicitante de asilo o un inmigrante. Nadie puede ser conocido \u00fanicamente a trav\u00e9s de su estatus legal. Las responsabilidades de los refugiados, solicitantes de asilo y migrantes son ser ciudadanos responsables del mundo y mostrar a los aut\u00f3ctonos los beneficios de ser receptivos a ideolog\u00edas y culturas diferentes. Al fin y al cabo, dicen que la variedad es la sal de la vida. As\u00ed pues, hay que ofrecer a los refugiados e inmigrantes un lugar seguro para vivir y oportunidades para acceder al trabajo, la educaci\u00f3n y la atenci\u00f3n sanitaria. Todos somos ciudadanos del mundo y la aceptaci\u00f3n de las diferencias individuales es clave.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La siguiente semana de formaci\u00f3n consisti\u00f3 en actividades de grupo, mesas redondas, sesiones de intercambio de ideas y juegos. El objetivo de esta segunda semana era convertirse en consejeros para ayudar a otros inmigrantes, refugiados y solicitantes de asilo a tener un mejor proceso de integraci\u00f3n y educar a la comunidad de acogida para que sea m\u00e1s acogedora. Los mediadores culturales act\u00faan como interfaz entre los anfitriones y los no aut\u00f3ctonos, tratando de garantizar una cohabitaci\u00f3n pac\u00edfica, la integraci\u00f3n y, en \u00faltima instancia, la apropiaci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s de servir como educadores entre iguales e influenciadores para otros que puedan encontrarse en una situaci\u00f3n similar en el futuro.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery sean mediadores culturales?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mariia tiene una respuesta clara a esta pregunta. Seg\u00fan ella, \"somos los representantes culturales de nuestros pa\u00edses\". Y por ello, piensa que deben intentar ser conscientes y comprender la responsabilidad de nuestras acciones\". Por su parte, Daniel nos dice que \"la migraci\u00f3n es una experiencia muy compleja en la vida de un individuo. Se parte de un lugar y una cultura a los que se pertenece y se intenta construir una vida en uno nuevo. Por ello, es importante que las personas que de alguna manera est\u00e1n familiarizadas con las pol\u00edticas y los procesos migratorios, y pasaron por ellos, compartan su experiencia de primera mano para aliviar el calvario a los que acaban de iniciar el viaje\".&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dar valor al papel que pueden desempe\u00f1ar los inmigrantes como mediadores culturales era precisamente el objetivo principal de la formaci\u00f3n en Italia, y Favour, Mariia y Daniel coinciden en lo constructiva que fue. \"La formaci\u00f3n me dio la oportunidad de abrir una nueva visi\u00f3n de la situaci\u00f3n de la migraci\u00f3n y los refugiados en Europa. Me mostr\u00f3 la situaci\u00f3n similar de otras personas de diferentes pa\u00edses\", explica Mariia, que afirma haber pasado el \u00faltimo a\u00f1o centrada en la guerra de Ucrania con su familia y amigos.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cuando se le pregunta qu\u00e9 destacar\u00eda de la formaci\u00f3n, Daniel responde \"conocer la experiencia de otras personas que pasaron por este proceso directamente, y verlas no como el mero testimonio registrado en alg\u00fan documento audiovisual, sino como un ejemplo vivo y palpable de que se pueden afrontar terribles dificultades en la vida y salir adelante a pesar de ello\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Nos dotamos de conocimientos, poder y entusiasmo para convertirnos en consejeros.
