The article will reconstruct Idomeni’s chronic starting before it gained media attention through secondary analysis. It will recount historical and political developments as well as the happenings of human rights violations which are now on trial.

During our last cultural event we have celebrated Eid al adha, The Great Celebration of Muslim people and the second of two major holidays in Islam.

With many people visiting, our last cultural event was an amazing success. With all our guests we discovered the beauty of Syria, the mysterious Middle Eastern Country! We learned about Syrian culture via a great presentation and we enjoyed its flavorful cuisine.

The bicycle shop ‘BikeIt’, located in the Eixample district in the heart of Barcelona, helped selling a bike of one of their customers and donated their commission to us! A very generous gesture from this small, but specialized and skilled bike shop!

On Sunday, August 5th, the President of the Catalan Parliament, Roger Torrent, visited the Open Cultural Center in Polykastro. He also visited the Nea Kavala Refugee Camp which is the main place of residence for the beneficiaries of OCC activities.

With proudness we are happy to announce that our wonderful book – My Friend: the Refugee Journey – is now translated in German and available via our website. The price/donation of the book is of 10€, which will go on to finance the activities of Open Cultural Center in Greece.

During this time volunteers will be actively involved in the different activities of the Open Cultural Center, Greece. Depending on the position volunteers will be carrying out different tasks.

A private secondary school in Austria is looking for Spanish Volunteers. It is a long term project starting in September. You will support during study lessons in the afternoon and with planning and implementing cultural, sportive and creative activities.

The Italian NGO Vicolocorto offers to Spanish youngsters 18-30 years old the possibility to live an European Voluntary Service (EVS) experience, short or long-term, in Pesaro or in the Marche Region (Italy).

The cooperation dinner has given the start of the cooperation project of the 2019-2020 city and has served as a closing for the initiative selected last year.
