El 13 d'octubre, molts residents del camp de refugiats de Nea Kavala es van reunir a la seva entrada, sostenint pancartes i cridant enfadats. El motiu d'una escena com aquesta va ser per protestar contra la implantaci\u00f3 d'un nou protocol que els impedeix accedir als aliments. Per\u00f2 per qu\u00e8 passa aix\u00f2? Des del 2017, l'Alt Comissionat de les Nacions Unides per als Refugiats (ACNUR) s'encarregava de pagar l'ajut econ\u00f2mic de 200.000 sol\u00b7licitants d'asil de Gr\u00e8cia. Tanmateix, des del setembre de 2021, el govern grec s'ha fet c\u00e0rrec del programa d'assist\u00e8ncia. Les conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncies han estat no nom\u00e9s els retards en ajuts tan vitals sin\u00f3 tamb\u00e9 la implantaci\u00f3 d'un sistema de distribuci\u00f3 d'aliments que ha sorpr\u00e8s molts ve\u00efns del camp.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shakiba (19 anys), que fa dos anys i mig que viu a Nea Kavala, descriu aquesta situaci\u00f3 com "realment avorrida i preocupant". Explica que \u201ces va emetre un missatge que els aliments es repartirien durant un per\u00edode de temps desconegut i que els migrants no rebran diners durant uns tres mesos\u201d. De sobte, les persones a les quals s'havia concedit l'estatut de refugiat i aquelles a les quals s'ha rebutjat el recurs d'asil ja no tenien dret a aquestes ajudes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Els agents d'asil estan retardant molt el proc\u00e9s d'asil.<\/p>Shakiba (19)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Segons Shakiba, el principal motiu de les protestes que van tenir lloc a l'octubre \u00e9s que \u201cels funcionaris d'asil estan retardant molt el proc\u00e9s d'asil\u201d, cosa que afecta clarament la selecci\u00f3 dels beneficiaris d'aquestes ajudes. \u201cFa poc vaig fer una entrevista i, segons la nova llei, els que han estat entrevistats en els darrers quatre o cinc mesos han, de fet, de superar dues entrevistes\u201d. Shakiba encara est\u00e0 esperant la resposta a la seva primera entrevista. "Si \u00e9s positiu, no est\u00e0 clar quant de temps haur\u00e9 d'esperar la resposta a la meva segona entrevista i els meus documents...", sospira.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finalment, preguntat per la reacci\u00f3 de les autoritats davant la protesta, Shakiba diu que "han intentat acabar amb la manifestaci\u00f3 nom\u00e9s dient que hem d'esperar i que no podem fer res".
